This product is a satellite speaker designed for playing background music in a retail or commercial setting.
This manual explains to the installer how to install the product.
Caution for safe installation is stated in “READ ME FIRST" which is included the product. Please read this manual thoroughly before use.

Speaker mounting angle
The speaker cabinet can be adjusted to point down by up to 30°. The speaker unit will tilt in the direction of the TILT marking on the mounting bracket.
Together with the mounting angle of the mounting bracket, you can angle the speaker as follows.
Example 1: Turning the mounting bracket by 45°

Installing the speaker on a wall or ceiling
You can use the included mounting bracket to install the speaker on a wall or ceiling.
Before installation, make sure the installation area can support the weight of the speaker.
- NOTICE
When installing speakers, make sure the power amplifier is turned off.
- NOTE
This speaker is painted with acrylic lacquer. See “Painting” for details.
Pre-installation (preparing the cables)
Prepare stranded cables to be attached to a Euroblock plug by stripping the cables as shown.
- NOTE
- Do not use solder to plate stranded wires, as this may cause the wires to break.
- Use a flat-headed screwdriver with a blade width of 3 mm or less.
Attaching the mounting bracket to the wall or ceiling
- Determine where the speaker will be installed.
- While referring to the actual mounting bracket, determine where the mounting bracket will be installed and where the speaker cable will be fed.
- Attach the mounting bracket to the wall or ceiling.
The width of the two long mounting holes is 5.0 mm, and the width of the center hole is 11.0 mm.
Connect the cables
- Use a flat-headed screwdriver to loosen the terminal screws of the Euroblock plug, insert the cables into the terminal openings, and then tighten the screws.
Make sure the cables are secure and cannot be pulled out. - Attach the Euroblock plug to the speaker's socket.
Attach the speaker to the mounting bracket
- NOTICE
When attaching the speaker, be careful not to pinch the cables.
- Align the speaker to the notch on the mounting bracket, and then attach the speaker. Secure the speaker by turning it clockwise.

Installing in a ceiling (using the CMA1M)
You can use the optional ceiling mount adaptor to install the VXS1ML in a ceiling.
The speaker can be installed in a ceiling with a thickness of 5 mm to 35 mm.
Pre-installation (preparing the cables)
Prepare stranded cables to be attached to a Euroblock plug by stripping the cables as shown.
- NOTE
- Do not use solder to plate stranded wires, as this may cause the wires to break.
- Use a flat-headed screwdriver with a blade width of 3 mm or less.
Cut a hole in the ceiling
CAUTION
- When cutting the hole, be careful to prevent debris or dust from entering your eyes.
- Use the included cutout template to mark the outline of the hole on the ceiling.
- NOTE
- Make sure to use the included cutout template; if the hole size is not correct, you will not be able to install the speaker. The size of the hole is 100 mm × 100 mm.
- Cut along the outline and cut the hole.
Attach the ceiling mount adaptor to the speaker
- Insert the speaker into the ceiling mount adaptor, and secure the speaker (2 locations) using the included screws (4x16 mm).
Connect the cables
- Run the cables from the power amp through the terminal cover.
- Use a flat-headed screwdriver to loosen the terminal screws of the Euroblock plug, insert the cables into the terminal openings, and then tighten the screws.
Make sure the cables are secure and cannot be pulled out. - Attach the Euroblock plug to the speaker's socket.
- Use the included screws (4x16 mm) to attach the terminal cover.
Securing the speaker to the ceiling
- Use both hands to press in the ceiling springs (4 locations) and push the speaker into the ceiling.
The speaker can be installed in a ceiling with a thickness of 5 mm to 35 mm. - Push the speaker into the ceiling slowly, taking care not to pinch the cables.
Make sure there are no gaps between the ceiling mount adaptor and the surface of the ceiling.

Installing in a lighting rail (using the RMA1MB)
You can use the RMA1MB optional rail mount adaptor to mount the VXS1ML to a lighting rail.
CAUTION
- Do not use the RMA1MB rail mount adaptor to mount any equipment other than the VXS1ML.
- Shut off the power supply to the speakers when mounting them to the lighting rail.
- Do not run the wires through the rail when wiring the speaker.
- Install the speaker at a distance from the lighting, to prevent the lighting from heating up the speaker. If the speaker is too close, it may overheat and cause a fire.
- NOTICE
Do not use an electric screwdriver to mount the speakers. Doing so may damage this product.
- NOTE
Do not attach the rail mount adaptor to a track on which the slot does not face down.

Compatible tracks
This product can be mounted to a lighting rail on which dimension A is within 1.5 mm to 6.0 mm, and on which dimension B exceeds 3 mm.
Attach the mounting bracket to the rail mount adaptor
- Line up the holes of the rail mount adaptor and the mounting bracket, and use the included screws to fasten (2 locations).
Connect the cables
- Run the cables from the power amp through the holes in the mounting bracket.
- Use a flat-headed screwdriver to loosen the terminal screws of the Euroblock plug, insert the cables into the terminal openings, and then tighten the screws. Make sure the cables are secure and cannot be pulled out.
Fasten to the rail mount adaptor to the track
- Loosen the center screw of the rail mount adaptor by turning it counter-clockwise.
Line it up with the A dimension of the lighting rail to which it will be mounted, and adjust the clamper position. - Insert the rail mount adaptor into the lighting rail, and loosen the center screw by turning it clockwise.
The clamper will rotate. Turning the screw further will cause the clamper to drop down and be secured onto the lighting rail.- NOTE
You can see the white line (shown by the arrow in the illustration) on the upper part of the rail mount adaptor. This line shows that the clamper is correctly rotating.
If you cannot see the white line, the clamper may not be firmly attached. Be sure to sufficiently check the installation.
- NOTICE
- Confirm that the rail mount adaptor is securely fastened.
- Do not tighten the screws using a torque of 1.0N·m or more. Doing so may damage the clamper.
- Attach the Euroblock plug to the speaker's socket.
Attach the speaker to the mounting bracket
- NOTICE
When attaching the speaker, be careful not to pinch the cables.
- Align the speaker to the notch on the mounting bracket, and then attach the speaker. Secure the speaker by turning it clockwise.

Painting
When painting the VXS1ML, we recommend using acrylic lacquer paint.
CAUTION
- Work in an area that has adequate ventilation.
- Be careful when removing the grille to avoid injury.
- NOTICE
- Painting procedures often require the use of volatile solvents that can cause fire. Follow all necessary safety precautions to avoid any risk of a fire or accident.
- Damage caused by painting the speaker is not covered by the warranty.
Painting the grille
- Remove the grille from the speaker, taking care not to scratch it.
Use a small, thin object such as a flat head screwdriver to remove the grille from either the top or the bottom of the speaker.- NOTE
Be careful when removing the grille, as using excessive force may cause it to buckle.
- Remove the emblem on the front of the grille.
The emblem is attached by adhesive tape. - Before painting, remove any dust or dirt from the grille.
Do not sand the enclosure. - Use spray paint to paint the grille.
- NOTE
Make sure the holes in the grille do not become clogged with paint. If the holes become clogged with paint, sound quality may be affected.
- When the paint is completely dry, attach the emblem to the grille.
- Attach the grille to the speaker.
Painting the speaker enclosure
- Before painting, remove any dust or dirt from the enclosure.
Do not sand the enclosure. - Use spray paint to paint the enclosure.
Cover the baffle and connectors using masking materials to avoid paint contact. - Allow the paint to dry completely.

- Before painting, remove any dust or dirt from the ceiling mount adaptor.
Do not sand the ceiling mount adaptor. - Use spray paint to paint the ceiling mount adaptor.
- Allow the paint to dry completely.
