Operating a zone
NOTE
- Even when the Zone switch on the remote control is set to “ZONE B”, operations other than power, volume, and mute will control the Main zone.
Turning zone power on/off
Turn the power for the zone that you want to operate on or off.
- Set the Zone switch on the remote control to the zone that you want to operate.
- Press the z (Power) key.
- Each time you press the key, the zone’s power toggles on/off.
- When the ZoneB power is on, “ZONE” is lit on the front display.

NOTE
When the power for all zones is turned off, the product enters standby.
Basic operations for a zone
After turning on the zone power, you can operate the zone selected with the Zone switch.
- Turn on the external device connected to this product.
- Use the INPUT keys to select an input source.
- Start playback on the external device, or select a radio station.
- Use the VOLUME keys to adjust the volume.
NOTE
- For information on operating your external device, refer to its user’s manual.
- The input source is shared between the Main zone and ZoneB.
Correcting volume difference between zones
If there is a large volume difference between the Main zone and ZoneB, you can adjust the ZoneB volume using the following procedure.
- Press the "(OPTION menu) key.
- Select “Volume Trim”.
- Select “Zone B Trim” to adjust the volume.
- This completes the setting.
NOTE
- To operate the menu, switch the remote control’s Zone switch to “MAIN”.
- If SETTINGS menu > “Zone B Volume Interlock” is set to “Async.”, the adjusted volume setting becomes invalid.
Adjusting Zone’s volume independently
By default, the ZoneB volume follows the Main zone. You can adjust the ZoneB volume independently using the following procedure.
- Press the ~(SETTINGS menu) key.
- Select “Sound”.
- Select “Volume”.
- Select “Zone B Volume Interlock”.
- Select “Async.”.
- Press the ~(SETTINGS menu) key.
- Switch the Zone switch to “ZONE B”.
- Use the VOLUME keys to adjust the volume for ZoneB.
NOTE
- To operate the menu, switch the remote control’s Zone switch to “MAIN”.
- Selecting “Async.” for “Zone B Volume Interlock” temporarily sets the ZoneB volume to –40 dB.
- Press the | (Mute) key to mute the sound. Press it again to cancel muting.
- Only the z (Power), VOLUME, and | (Mute) keys on the remote control can operate the Main zone and ZoneB independently.
