Setting Up for Connection with Smart Pianist
To use Smart Pianist, you will need to connect it to a compatible instrument. The connection method differs depending on your instrument and smart device. Follow the steps below to confirm your relevant Connection Types and what items are necessary.
1. Select your instrument and smart device from the list below, and then press [Display].
2. Choose the most appropriate one from the Connection Types shown below, and then read the corresponding instructions to prepare the necessary items.
3. Return to the Smart Pianist app, and then follow the instructions of the Connection Wizard to complete the connection.
◆ Connection Types
[Instrument] iPad terminal / [Device] Lightning connector
Items required:
• Apple Lightning to USB Cable
[Instrument] USB TO HOST (Type B) terminal / [Device] Lightning connector
Items required:
• USB cable (Type A plug - Type B plug)
• Apple Lightning to USB Camera Adapter
[Instrument] USB TO HOST (Type B) terminal / [Device] Type C connector
Items required:
• USB cable (Type A plug - Type B plug)
• USB conversion adaptor (Type A socket - Type C plug)
* When connecting an iPadOS device, use the Apple USB-C Digital AV Multiport Adapter or Apple USB-C VGA Multiport Adapter.
[Instrument] USB TO HOST (Type C) terminal / [Device] Lightning connector
Items required:
• USB cable (Type A plug - Type C plug)
• Apple Lightning to USB Camera Adapter
[Instrument] USB-C terminal / [Device] Lightning connector
Items required:
• Apple USB-C to Lightning Cable
* A USB cable (Type C plug - Type C plug, or Type A plug - Type C plug) and a genuine Apple adapter can be used.
[Instrument] USB-C terminal or USB TO HOST (Type C) terminal / [Device] Type C connector
Wi-Fi (UD-WL01)
Items required:
• USB wireless LAN adaptor UD-WL01
• Router (access point)
* You can connect without a router, however certain functions (such as data management on the online storage and firmware update of the instrument) that require Internet access will be disabled.
* Not available in some countries or regions.
Bluetooth (built into the instrument)
Items required:
None
When connecting by Bluetooth, the Audio Recording function cannot be used on Smart Pianist. If you want to record your keyboard performance as audio to Smart Pianist, connect by another method.

Bluetooth (UD-BT01)
Items required:
• Wireless MIDI adaptor UD-BT01
• USB power adaptor (Type A)
• USB cable (Type A plug - Type B plug)
When connecting by Bluetooth, the Audio Recording function cannot be used on Smart Pianist. If you want to record your keyboard performance as audio to Smart Pianist, connect by another method.
