Listening to TV audio using eARC/ARC

When you connect an eARC/ARC-compatible TV to this product with an HDMI cable, the TV’s audio can be played through this product.

Then, when you select a TV program using the TV’s remote control, the input on this product automatically switches to “TV”, and the TV audio is output from this product.

NOTE
  • The TV must support the HDMI Control function.
  • If you do not want this product and the TV to operate together, turn off the HDMI Control function. This setting is available only when using eARC.
  • To use ARC, both the HDMI Control function and the ARC function must be turned on.
  • You may have to change settings on your TV. Depending on the TV, settings for both eARC and ARC may be required. For more details, refer to the user's manual for your TV.
  • If the TV does not support eARC/ARC, or if audio dropouts occur when using eARC/ARC, connect this product and the TV using a digital optical cable.

Using a digital optical cable to listen to connected TV audio

If the TV does not support eARC/ARC or you want to output TV audio using a connection other than HDMI, you can input the TV audio to this product using a digital optical cable.

  1. Set in the SETTINGS menu > “ARC” to “Off”.
  1. Use the remote control to select the content (program) that you want to watch on TV.
  • Then, the input on this product automatically switches to “TV”, and the TV audio is output from this product.
NOTE
  • The TV must support the HDMI Control function.
  • To listen to TV audio via a coaxial or analog connection, change the setting for SETTINGS menu > “Function” > “TV Audio Input”.
  • If “HDMI Control” is set to “Off”, manually switch the input to “TV” before operating the TV with its remote control.
