Setting up HDMI Control

HDMI” > “HDMI Control

Settings

  • Off: Disables HDMI Control.
  • On: Enables HDMI Control.
  • When set to “On”, linked operation with the TV and HDMI input devices is enabled.
  • The “Standby Sync” and “ARC” settings are applied. This setting consumes more power than when set to “Off”.

After connecting an HDMI Control–compatible TV or AV device to this product, you must configure the linkage settings.

Setting whether HDMI audio is output from the TV’s speakers

HDMI” > “Audio Output

Settings

  • Off: Does not output audio from the TV.
  • On: Outputs audio from the TV.

NOTE
This can be set only when SETTINGS menu > “HDMI Control” is set to “Off”.

Configuring HDMI pass-through

You can set whether to output audio/video input to the HDMI ports to the TV when this product is in standby.

Settings

  • Off: Does not output to the TV.
  • On: Outputs to the TV. When this product is in HDMI pass-through mode, it consumes more power than in “Off” or “Auto”.
  • Auto: Automatically determines whether to output based on the status of the connected device.

If SETTINGS menu > “HDMI Control” is set to “On”, only “On” and “Auto” can be selected.

  • A ○ mark indicates a supported format.
  • A ● mark indicates a format that is supported only when using DSC (Display Stream Compression). DSC is a video signal compression technology standardized by VESA.
NOTE
  • Depending on the connected device or HDMI cable, the video may be distorted. In that case, change this setting.
  • When set to “8K Mode”, use an Ultra High Speed HDMI cable or an Ethernet-compatible Ultra High Speed HDMI cable.
  • When set to “4K Mode 1”, use a Premium High Speed HDMI cable or an Ethernet-compatible Premium High-Speed HDMI cable.

Setting the HDCP version for HDMI input ports

You can set the HDCP version for each HDMI input port. When viewing 4K/8K video, if you are using a TV that supports up to HDCP 1.4, set this to “1.4”. The setting can be changed for each HDMI input port.

  • Auto: The HDCP version is automatically determined by the content.
  • 1.4: The HDCP version is fixed at 1.4.

Setting standby synchronization with the TV

You can configure whether the TV and this product enter power standby together.

Settings

  • Auto: This product enters standby in sync with the TV power standby only when this product is receiving a TV audio input or an HDMI signal input.
  • Off: Disables power standby synchronization.
  • On: This product always enters standby in sync with the TV power standby.

  • This setting is applied when SETTINGS menu > “HDMI Control” is set to “On”.

Configuring ARC

TV audio can be played back via an HDMI cable. To listen to TV audio using other connection methods, configure the setting in SETTINGS menu > “Function” > “TV Audio Input”.

  • On: Enables ARC.
  • Off: Disables ARC.

NOTE
  • This setting is applied when SETTINGS menu > “HDMI Control” is set to “On”.
  • To use the eARC function, “ARC” does not need to be set. If the TV supports eARC, it is automatically recognized and connected.
