Configuring the speaker system

You can set the speaker configuration according to your speaker system.

Power amplifier assignment

Sets the signal output from the HEIGHT terminals.

SETTINGS menu

“Speakers” > “Configuration” > “Power Amp Assign”

Settings

  • Height: Outputs height signals.
  • Surround Back: Outputs surround back signals.
  • Bi-Amp: Outputs bi-amp signals (same as the front speakers).
  • Use this setting when connecting the front speakers using a bi-amp connection.
  • Zone B: Outputs ZoneB signals.
  • Use this setting when using ZoneB speakers in addition to the Main zone speaker system.

Settings

  • Use: Select when one or more subwoofers are connected.
  • Audio from the LFE (Low-Frequency Effects) channel, along with bass redirected from the other speakers, will be output from the subwoofer.
  • None: Select this option when no subwoofer is connected.
  • Low-frequency audio will be output from the front speakers.

Settings

  • Crossover: 40 to 80 to 200 Hz (in 5 Hz increments)
  • Sets the low-frequency range that the selected speaker can output. Audio signals below the set frequency are output from the subwoofer or front speakers.
  • Full Range: Outputs the full frequency range from the selected speaker.
  • None*: No speaker is connected.

Default setting

Crossover 80 Hz

  • *This setting cannot be selected for front speakers.

Layout

  • Front Height: When the height speakers are installed on the front wall.
  • Top: When the height speakers are installed on the ceiling.
  • Dolby Enabled Speaker: When using Dolby Enabled Speakers as height speakers.
  • ---: When height speakers are not used.

  • When “Meters” is selected under “Unit”:
  • 0.3 m to 3.0 m to 24.0 m (in 0.05 m increments)
  • When “Feet” is selected under “Unit”:
  • 1.0 ft to 10.0 ft to 80.0 ft (in 0.2 ft increments)

  • When “Meters” is selected under “Unit”:
  • 3.0 m
  • When “Feet” is selected under “Unit”:
  • 10.0 ft

Setting individual speaker volumes

Setting an equalizer

Settings

  • Auto EQ: Applies the equalizer values obtained by “Room Correction”.
  • GEQ: Manually adjusts the equalizer.
  • Off: Does not use an equalizer.

  • “Auto EQ” can be selected only when automatic measurement has been performed using “Room Correction”.

Manual equalizer adjustment

This setting is available only when “GEQ” is selected in “EQ Select”.

Outputting a test tone

Settings

  • Each Speaker: Outputs a test tone from the selected speaker.
  • Off: Does not output a test tone.

Setting the speaker impedance

Set according to the impedance of the connected speakers.

  • 6 Ohm MIN: Select when using speakers rated at 6 Ω or higher.
  • 8 Ohm MIN: Select when using speakers rated at 8 Ω or higher.

Automatically adjusting volume balance and tone (Room Correction)

Using the supplied Setup Microphone, the product detects speaker connections and measures the distance, level, frequency, and phase relative to the listening position (measurement position). Based on these measurements, the product can automatically adjust the volume balance, tone, and other settings.

Configure the settings by following the instructions on the TV screen.
