Setting up detailed function settings (Function)
Display Settings
Set the display settings for TV screen on the front display.
Setup menu
“Function” > “Display Settings” > “Dimmer”/“Short Message”
Settings
- Dimmer
- Adjust the brightness of the power indicator and the front display. A higher value means brighter light.

- Short Message
- Sets the location where short messages are displayed during soundbar operation.
Off | The short message is not displayed. | |
On | Displays the short message. | |
Position | Bottom | Displayed at the bottom of the screen. |
Top | Displayed at the top of the screen. | |
Default setting
- Dimmer: -2
- Short Message: On (Position: Bottom)
- Even if set to “-5” (off), short messages and menus on the front display menu will still be displayed at a brightness of “-4”.
- When set to “-5” (off), it will be more difficult to see whether or not the sound bar is on. Take care not to leave the sound bar with the power on. You are recommended to set “Auto Power Standby” in the Setup menu to something other than “Off”.
- The “Dimmer” setting in the Setup menu and the “Dimmer” setting on the front display menu are interlocked.
Power Management
Auto Power Standby
Sets the time it takes for the sound bar to turn off (standby) automatically.
- Setup menu
“Function” > “Power Management” > “Auto Power Standby” - Settings
Off | Do not automatically put on standby. Setting to “Off” consumes more power than setting to the selections other than “Off”. |
5 minutes, 20 minutes | Standby when the sound bar has not been operated for a specified period of time and no input signal has been detected for a specified period of time. |
2 hours, 4 hours, 8 hours, 12 hours | Put the sound bar in standby mode when it has not been operated for a specified period of time. |

20 minutes
True X Ready
Select whether to maintain the connection to the wireless speakers when the sound bar is off.
- Setup menu
“Function” > “Power Management” > “True X Ready” - Settings
Off | Minimizes the power consumption of the sound bar, but it takes longer for the wireless speakers to connect. |
On | Increases the power consumption of the sound bar, but shortens the time it takes for the wireless speakers to connect. |
- Default setting
Models for U.K. and Europe: Off
Models for other regions: On
- Setting the “True X Ready” to “On” consumes more power than when it is set to “Off”.
- It is recommended that “True X Ready” be set to “On” for smooth power interlocking with the wireless speakers.
Initialization
Reset (initialize) the settings of the sound bar.

“Function” > “Initialization”
Settings
All | Initializes all settings. |
Network | Initializes the network settings. |
Operation method
Refer to “To initialize (reset) the sound bar” for information on the operation method.
- You can also use “Initialization” in the front display menu to initialize a setting.
Firmware Update
Update the sound bar’s firmware. You can also confirm the version of current firmware and the system ID.
Setup menu
“Function” > “Firmware Update”
Settings
Network Update | Update performed via a network. |
USB Update | Update using a USB flash drive. |
Operation method
Refer to “Firmware Update” for information on the operation method.
- You cannot select “Network Update” until you are ready to update the firmware.
- Use this menu only for updating firmware. Before updating, be sure to check for important information on our web site.
- A firmware update via a network takes about 20 minutes.
- If your Internet connection is not fast enough or you are using a wireless network, you may not receive notice of a firmware update. In such a case, it may be better to use a USB flash drive to update the firmware.
- You can also use “Firmware Update” in the front display menu to update firmware.
- After the firmware of the sound bar has been updated, the firmware of the wireless speakers may be updated automatically.
