No sound is coming from the subwoofer

  • The playback source does not contain subwoofer channel signals or low-frequency signals.
  • Try to play content containing subwoofer channel signals or low-frequency signals, to check if any sound can be heard from the subwoofer.
  • The volume of the subwoofer is too low.
  • Turn up the volume of the subwoofer.
  • The power cord of the subwoofer is not connected to an AC wall outlet.
  • Connect the power cord of the subwoofer to an AC wall outlet.
  • The protection circuit has been activated (the power light on the back of the subwoofer flashes red rapidly).
  • To protect the product, the power of the subwoofer cannot be turned on. The protection circuit may also be activated by continuous loud playback, unplugging the unit during playback, or after a brief power failure. Make sure the power indicator is off before plugging the subwoofer power cord back in to turn on the sound bar again. If the power indicator still flashes rapidly, unplug the power cord from the AC wall outlet and contact the nearest authorized Yamaha dealer or service center.
  • Weak wireless signal (The CONNECT indicator on the rear of the subwoofer is flashing slowly).
  • The condition of the wireless connection is bad, and the subwoofer cannot be connected to the sound bar. Try the following.
    • Place the subwoofer closer to the sound bar.
    • If metal furniture is placed between the sound bar and subwoofer, change the layout or relocate the subwoofer.
    • If a device emitting electromagnetic waves (such as a microwave oven or a wireless LAN device) is located nearby, place the subwoofer and sound bar farther away from it.
  • The subwoofer and the sound bar are not connected (The CONNECT indicator on the rear of the subwoofer is flashing slowly. Or the CONNECT indicator is slowly flashing red).
  • Manually connect the subwoofer to the sound bar.
  • The subwoofer is not turned on.
  • If the icon appears on the soundbar front display and the subwoofer power indicator is solid red, the subwoofer has been turned off for some reason.
  • Unplug the power cord of the subwoofer from the AC wall outlet. Then wait until the power indicator goes off before plugging it in again.
