Playing the flute: Step 2
Playing G, F, E, D, C
Starting from the G note, go down one note at a time. Use a gentler breath than the one you used in step 1.

D and C notes are relatively difficult to produce on the flute. If you find them difficult, work on other notes and try them again later.

If you feel that the C note does not sound quite right, check to see whether you are pressing the key correctly with your right little finger.
Once you feel comfortable articulating each note, try playing five notes in a row.
NOTE
If a higher pitch sound or a sound between a high pitch and a low pitch is produced, slow your breath. This is not a fingering mistake, because on the flute you can produce sounds at different pitches using the same fingering.
HINT If the pitch is unstable, attach the ASTFL and develop a sense of how to produce a stable sound. Once you can produce a stable sound, remove the ASTFL and try to play the flute normally. |
