About Dante models
In addition to analog input, the XMS24s8-D, XMS12s8-D, XMS12s4-D and XMS06s4-D units (hereafter referred to as “Dante models”) use Dante as the protocol for conveying digital audio signals. Visit the Audinate website for more details on Dante.

1.8. XMS series signal processing
The XMS series consists of three blocks: INPUT, USER, and SPEAKER PROCESSOR. Use INPUT to set the routing, and USER EQ and USER DELAY to adjust the acoustics. Use SPEAKER PROCESSOR to adjust the acoustics to suit the speakers.
For details on each processing, refer to the items on the “ PROCESSING screen .”
1.9. Power sharing
This function allows you to set the amplifier output allocation for each channel.
In a multi-channel amplifier, the power required varies depending on the speakers connected, which can result in excess power being output from some channels.
However, if you combine individual power amplifiers with few channels to match the required power, as was done in the past, you can reduce the amount of excess power, but the number of amplifiers will increase, the amplifier rack will become larger, and in many cases the cost will rise.
The output of a power amplifier is limited not only by the design of the amplifier unit (such as the withstand voltage, current capacity, and supply voltage of the amplifying element), but also by the power supply design of the power supply unit and the thermal design for dissipating and exhausting heat generated internally.
The XMS24s8/-D and XMS12s4/-D units are equipped with an amplifier unit capable of delivering the output to all channels, with up to 600 W at 8 Ω/4 Ω per channel in low-impedance mode (or up to 300 W at 70 V/100 V in high-impedance mode), and a power supply unit and thermal dissipation design capable of delivering the power of 1200 W per four channels.
*The XMS12s8/-D and XMS06s4/-D units deliver up to 300 W at 8 Ω/4 Ω in low-impedance mode, and up to 150 W at 70 V/100 V in high-impedance mode.
*Continuous output will converge to 1/8 of its original power during extended periods.
By using the Power Sharing function, you can freely allocate power in 10 W increments* up to a total of 1200 W per four channels for the XMS24s8/-D and XMS12s4/-D units, and 600 W per four channels for the XMS12s8/-D and XMS06s4/-D units, with the maximum output of each channel as the upper limit. This functionality allows you to build a system with minimal excess power.
*In ProVisionaire Design, power can be allocated in 1 W increments.
